Meet the Founder
Claire mcleod Hill
Claire is a producer and creative executive, and the founder and head of Top of the Hill Productions. She leads the company’s vision in developing and producing distinctive film projects that draw from the legacy of classic cinema while shaping a forward-looking identity in independent filmmaking.
Her work prioritizes narrative-driven projects with strong central characters and a deliberate visual style, supporting filmmakers with singular perspectives. Hill’s approach emphasizes creative control, narrative clarity, and a commitment to building work that stands apart from conventional industry models.
In addition to her role at Top of the Hill Productions, Hill is the founder and CEO of Civilized Chaos LLC, a Los Angeles–based production company focused on curated projects across film, media, art, music, and live events. Through both companies, she has established a body of work that bridges structured creative development with a clear cultural perspective.
With a background rooted in extensive academic training and disciplined research, Hill brings a thoughtful and analytical lens to her work. Her projects frequently engage with ideas of historical continuity, symbolic storytelling, and the patterns that shape human experience over time.
Hill’s work reflects a broader shift in contemporary filmmaking—one that draws from the foundations of earlier cinematic traditions while advancing a more individual, artistic, and intentional model for the future of “New Hollywood”.
